Description
- Creamy, cheesy mac and cheese loaded with tender, smoky BBQ pulled pork, topped with crispy breadcrumbs. A comforting and indulgent dish perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups milk
- 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese (sharp or medium)
- 2 cups cooked BBQ pulled pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
2. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
3. Slowly whisk in milk until smooth. Cook until sauce thickens.
4. Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Add macaroni and pulled pork, mix well.
6. Pour into greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top (optional).
7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
8. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with different cheeses or add your favorite toppings. Make sure you don’t overcook the macaroni for best results.
