- 1 bag of your favorite hard pretzels (rods or twists, your choice)
- 1/2 cup of melted butter
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese (sharp or mild, depending on your preference)
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
- Optional: A pinch of cayenne pepper for a kick
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and all the spices and mix well.
- Add the shredded cheese to the mixture, and stir well, until the cheese is coated in the butter mixture and starting to melt.
- Add the pretzels to the bowl, and gently toss everything together, making sure that each pretzel is well-coated in the cheese. You can add more if necessary.
- Spread the cheese-covered pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a single layer, to ensure the entire pretzel can cook evenly.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and slightly golden. Keep a close watch to prevent burning, if you do think they are browning too fast, put aluminum foil over top.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet. The cheese will harden and stick to the pretzels, creating the perfect cheesy coating.
